Precast/Prestressed Girder Help

ProjectWise Integration

ProjectWise is an engineering project team collaboration system used to help teams improve quality, reduce work, and meet project deadlines. One of the major pieces of functionality provided by ProjectWise is an Integration Server that allows data to be managed and shared across a distributed enterprise. Precast/Prestressed Girder has been enhanced so that the data files can be managed on a ProjectWise server. Three primary integration functions are:

  • Open a Precast/Prestressed Girder model from ProjectWise repository
  • Save a local Precast/Prestressed Girder model into a ProjectWise repository
  • Update an existing model from ProjectWise

ProjectWise Repository

Installation and management of a ProjectWise Integration can be obtained from the ProjectWise Installation manual.

Menu

The commands that drive the ProjectWise Integration are available from the main File menu and are as follows:

  • Add…

This command is available when using a locally opened (not checked out from ProjectWise) model which allows the current model to be saved in a ProjectWise repository. As authentication is required to access files stored on a Project Wise repository, a login dialog allows the required details to be entered either with specific user credentials or by using the current windows login credentials the data source and silent login option can be set in the Preferences dialog box.

  • Update Server Copy

This command is available when working on a checked-out file, and the changes made on the model can be updated to the server.

  • Properties

This command displays the file properties as stored in ProjectWise.

A toolbar titled ProjectWise duplicates the commands that you can access when selecting ProjectWise from the File menu.

Note: More details about ProjectWise are available from the ProjectWise Client Installation manual. The functionality presented here requires access to version V8i or greater of ProjectWise.
